A walk through the streets of the area surrounding MIAT will provide a glimpse of the lively textile town that was Ghent of yesteryear. It will introduce you to pervasive industrialisation in the nineteenth-century zone in the form of old textile factories, the first power station in Ghent, the Minnemeers bleach, the interior courtyards of the cottage of textile workers, and so on.
